Money’soncharlotte looks for her first win over the Monmouth Park main track when she takes on 10 other 3-year-old fillies in Saturday’s Grade 3, $100,000 Monmouth Oaks going a mile and a sixteenth.

“She’s been doing well,” said trainer Kelly Breen, who conditions the horse for George and Lori Hall. “She ran well last time out. Andre Worrie got to know her a little more from that last race and she liked the track. Everything is ready to go for Saturday.”

Money’soncharlotte’s last outing came on Aug.1 in a $30,000 allowance optional claiming event at Monmouth Park where she sat near the back of a compressed field and closed well to finish second behind winner Light the City, who is also entered in Saturday’s Monmouth Oaks.

The 3-year-old filly by Mizzen Mast out of the Chimes Band mare Something Wicked hasn’t worked since her latest race. Her last workout came on July 18, where she went four furlongs in :47 4/5 over the Monmouth dirt, which was the fifth fastest time out of 72 horses that went the distance on that day.

“We are going to be in the same kind of spot as we were last time out and sit off the early pace,” said Breen.

To get to the winners circle in the Monmouth Oaks, Money’soncharlotte will have to get by a pair of entries from the barns of both Graham Motion and Chad Brown. Both of Chad Brown’s entries, Delightful Joy and Lady Serena, are coming off victories in allowance events at Belmont Park, while Graham Motions’ Tiger Ride won the Tawee Stakes on July 17 at Indiana Grand.

Money’soncharlotte is also one of two entrants that ran in this year’s Kentucky Oaks along with Todd Pletcher’s Eskenformoney, who also finished second in the Gulfstream Park Oaks.

Andre Worrie will be back aboard Money’soncharlotte for the second time on Saturday.

The Monmouth Oaks will be race 11 on Saturday’s 12-race card. Gates open at 11:30 a.m, with first post at 12:50 p.m.
