Monday’s 6th race from Turf Paradise (2-5-18) is a $17,000 Allowance event for 4-year-olds and up which have never won four races. They will be dashing six furlongs on the main track.
#1 Xtreme Lyra (6-1) ran well in his last three 2016 dirt sprints, dropped six straight longer events, and turned back and defeated local $10k/3L dirt sprinters as the chalk Jan. 16. He steps up for sharp trainer Diodoro and Corbett is 7-for-12 with this outfit. He should be forwardly placed from the rail.
#9 Sedona Sunrise (9-2) fired trifecta shots in his last six local dirt sprints and puts blinkers back on. Mawing got to know him in a place finish vs. $10k claimers at this course/distance Jan. 23.
#3 He’s Munnie (8-5) was the favorite in his last four local starts and managed to win once on turf (12-4-17). He is a stalking threat but is only 1-for-16 on fast dirt (8 minor awards).
#5 Consumerconfidence (5-2) exits a local flat mile turf win and is 0-for-2 on dirt. He showed stalking speed in NY turf sprints last year.
