Monday’s 7th race from Santa Anita Park (2-19-17) is the $200,000 Cal Cup Oaks for 3-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the turf course.
#1 PULPIT RIDER (4-1) showed nice late interest from the tricky inside post in an open downhill sprint Jan. 19, and the top two from that heat returned to finish 2-3 in the Sweet Life Stakes. She switches to Corey Nakatani and is an interesting contender on the stretch out.
#5 One Fast Broad (3-5) is 3-for-3 on dirt and 0-for-3 on turf, but she finished well in a pair of open turf stakes races at this distance last year. She will try to get involved late under her new pilot Flavien Prat.
#7 X S Gold (4-1) improved her ratings in all three starts. She exits a troubled 6th of 11 from the inside post in the Blue Norther and is capable of better under Rafael Bejarano.
THE PLAYS:
#1 to win
Exacta 1-7/5
Trifecta Key 1/5-7
