Monday works: Seize the Grey, Locked lead 18 graded winners

Preakness winner Seize the Grey worked at Saratoga on Monday for the second time since his fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Jim Dandy. The D. Wayne Lukas trainee was the fastest of three to work five furlongs on the dirt training track, covering the distance in 1:01.44. His connections have not yet committed to a next start.

Locked, whose last race was a third-place finish behind stablemate Fierceness in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, returned to the work tab Monday for the first time since February. The Todd Pletcher trainee worked three furlongs in 38.4 seconds on the dirt at Saratoga. He had been pointing toward Kentucky Derby prep races in Florida, but a minor knee ligament problem took him off the Kentucky Derby trail.
