Monday works: Speed Boat Beach, Prince of Monaco lead 9
Two top-level winners from the Bob Baffert barn drilled at Del Mar on Monday morning. Prince of Monaco, most recently second in the Grade 1 Woody Stephens at Saratoga, worked five furlongs in 1:00.2 toward an expected start in the H. Allen Jerkens (G1). Speed Boat Beach, unraced since winning the Malibu (G1) in December, worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds.
Forbidden Kingdom, a Grade 2 winner on dirt and turf, returned to the work tab for trainer Richard Mandella for the first time in over three months. The son of American Pharoah worked an easy two furlongs on dirt at Del Mar. It was his first drill since finishing seventh behind The Chosen Vron in the Kona Gold in April.
