Prince of Monaco, a Bob Baffert trainee last seen running second to Book'em Danno in the Grade 1 Woody Stephens, continues working toward his return to Saratoga. He worked five furlongs in 1:01.4 Monday morning over the dirt at Del Mar. A Grade 1-winning juvenile, the son of Speighstown made his seasonal debut in the Woody Stephens and is expected to make his next start Aug. 24 in the Grade 1 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial.
Baby Yoda, last seen winning the True North (G2) during the Belmont Stakes racing festival at Saratoga, did his final work before an expected start in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) on Saturday. The Bill Mott trainee drilled four furlongs in a sharp 48.2 seconds, third fastest of 22 over the Saratoga dirt. A Florida-bred son of Prospective, Baby Yoda has shown his best form at the Spa, with four wins in six starts there.
