Monday works: Magnitude leads 11 graded winners on the tab

Magnitude worked Monday for the first time since his Nov. 28 win in the Grade 2 Clark Stakes at Churchill Downs.

The 3-year-old colt by Not This Time breezed four furlongs in 53.2 seconds at Fair Grounds, slowest of 28 at the distance. It was his first work at the track after spending the fall at Churchill.

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Magnitude has a 6: 3-1-1 record this year and earned his first graded win in the Risen Star (G2) in February. He missed the Kentucky Derby trail because of an ankle chip and returned in July with a win in the Iowa Derby.

Beyond Brilliant (Twirling Candy), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Hollywood Derby), worked five furlongs in 1:00.2 at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 61 works at the distance. His previous work was 12 days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed sixth in the Eddie D (G2) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Santa Anita on Sept. 27 for trainer John Shirreffs.

Intrepido (Maximus Mischief), a Grade 1 winner (2025 American Pharoah), worked five furlongs in 1:02.8 at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 48th fastest of 61 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Oct. 31 for trainer Jeff Mullins.

Stronghold (Ghostzapper), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Santa Anita Derby), worked three furlongs in 39.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 19th fastest of 21 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Pat O'Brien (G2) going seven furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Aug. 23 for trainer Phil D'Amato.

Magnitude (Not This Time), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2025 Clark, 2025 Risen Star), worked four furlongs in 53.2 seconds at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the slowest of 28 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Clark (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 28 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Offlee Naughty (Flashback), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Charles Whittingham), worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the seventh fastest of nine works at the distance. His previous work was 16 days ago going five furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Del Mar on Aug. 22 for trainer Michael McCarthy.

Mucho Del Oro (Mucho Macho Man), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2024 Daytona, 2024 San Simeon), worked five furlongs in 1:02.8 at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 48th fastest of 61 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. Lemon Muffin (Collected), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Honeybee), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 16th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed sixth in the Bayakoa (G3) going one mile on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 30 for trainer Patrick Gallagher.

Medoro (Honor Code), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Providencia), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 85 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed sixth in the Matriarch (G1) going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 30 for trainer Peter Eurton.

Obliteration (Violence), a Grade 3 winner (2025 Sanford), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 28 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint going five furlongs on the turf at Del Mar on Oct. 31 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
