Monday works: Dorth Vader, Five G lead 11 graded winners
Dorth Vader, who missed by a nose to Thorpedo Anna in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign at Saratoga in her most recent start, worked Monday morning at Saratoga. Her time of 49.5 seconds for four furlongs on the dirt training track was the fourth fastest of 13. Trained by George Weaver, the daughter of Girvin is a five-time winner and a millionaire, and her victories include an upset score in the Ogden Phipps (G1) during Belmont Stakes weekend this year.
Five G, who has not raced since winning the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) on March 29, worked three furlongs at Saratoga on Monday. The work was her first since April. The daughter of Vekoma, also trained by Weaver, went three furlongs in 39 seconds on the dirt training track. A three-time winner in six starts, her wins this year include the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) and the Cash Run Stakes at Gulfstream. She also finished second, a length behind Quietside, in the Honeybee (G3) at Oaklawn.
