Monday works: Bring Theband Home, Scottish Lassie lead 10
Bring Theband Home, a Mark Casse trainee who won the Grade 2 Troy at Saratoga in his last start, returned to the work tab in sharp fashion Monday for the first time since his graded-stakes breakthrough. He worked four furlongs in 48.3 seconds on the Saratoga grass, third fastest of 58 drills over the course and distance. A lightly raced 5-year-old Into Mischief gelding, Bring Theband Home has six wins in 13 starts, including scores in both the Troy and the Harvey Pack this summer at Saratoga.
Scottish Lassie, a two-time top-level winner for trainer Jorge Abreu, also worked Monday morning at the Spa. A sophomore filly by McKinzie, she blew out six furlongs in 1:13.8 on the dirt training track. The last-out winner of the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), she is possible for the Cotillion (G1) at Parx on Sept. 20.
