Monday works: Brightwork drills bullet, leading 13 graded winners
Grade 1 winner Brightwork fired a bullet Monday morning at Keeneland. The daughter of Outwork, working toward her first race since a third-place effort in the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club of America in October at Keeneland.
Brightwork won the 2023 Spinaway (G1), giving her trainer John Ortiz his first top-level win. In addition to her try against older horses in the Thoroughbred Club of America, she also beat fellow sophomore fillies in the Prioress (G3) in 2024, winning by a game neck over odds-on Two Sharp in her seasonal debut.
