Monday works: 7 graded winners feature 2 last-out winners
Two horses who won their most recent races are among the graded-stakes winners on Monday morning's work tab.
Arrest Me Red, a multiple graded-stakes winning turf sprinter, returned to the work tab Monday for the first time since an allowance victory at Keeneland in October. He breezed four furlongs over the Tapeta at Turfway Park in 48.4 seconds. The 6-year-old Wesley Ward trainee last won at the graded level in 2022, but he won three of his six starts in 2024 and earned stakes placings at Turfway and Kentucky Downs.
Midnight Mammoth, winner of the Grade 3 Cougar II in his last start at Del Mar on July 25, has been on the work tab all December long. He went five furlongs at Santa Anita on Monday in 1:00.8, his first gate work since returning to the tab on Dec. 2. A seasoned 5-year-old in the Craig Dollase barn, Midnight Mammoth has seven wins in 31 starts, but the Cougar II was his first at the stakes level.
