Two-time Grade 2 winner Hang the Moon earned a bullet Monday morning at Santa Anita. Her four-furlong time of 48.4 seconds over the all-weather training track was the fastest of 18 at the distance.
Trained by Phil D'Amato, she won both the John C. Mabee (G2) and the Rodeo Drive (G2) last year, and is working toward her first start since finishing sixth in the Robert J. Frankel (G3) on Dec. 27 at Santa Anita.
Hang the Moon was one of four graded-stakes winners on the Santa Anita work tab Monday morning for D'Amato. Grade 1 winner Gold Phoenix worked four furlongs on the all-weather training track, his fourth drill since a fourth-place finish in the Turf Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby day.
