Monday works: 14 graded-stakes winners are on the tab

Kilwin, winner of the Grade 1 Test last year, worked Monday for the first time since finishing eighth in the Music City (G2) in September.

The 4-year-old Twirling Candy filly breezed three furlongs in 39.0 seconds at Palm Meadows, slowest of four at the distance.

Trained by Rusty Arnold, Kilwin had won two stakes in a row, including the Test, before her Music City appearance. She also was second to Shisospicy in last year's Mamzelle (G3).

In his last start he placed sixth in the Del Mar Mile (G2) going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Aug. 30 for trainer Phil D'Amato.

Stronghold (Ghostzapper), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Santa Anita Derby), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 22nd fastest of 64 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in the Pat O'Brien (G2) going seven furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Aug. 23 for trainer Phil D'Amato.

Scythian (Tiz the Law), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Miss Grillo), worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Payson Park on Monday morning. It was the fastest of four works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park. In her last start she placed third in the Endeavour (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs on Jan. 31 for trainer Bill Mott.

The Padre (Ghaiyyath), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Caesars Del Mar Derby), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the sixth fastest of nine works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita.
