Tuesday tab: Santin drills ahead of Arlington Million defense
On a Tuesday with a light work tab, Santin, winner of last year's Grade 1 Arlington Million, drilled ahead of an expected start in Saturday's edition at Colonial Downs.
The 5-year-old son of Distorted Humor hasn't had a win in six starts since that win a year ago, finishing no better than fourth. He worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Turfway for trainer Brendan Walsh, who confirmed that he is pointed to the Arlington Million.
Another Grade 1 winner, Faiza also worked Tuesday, going five furlongs in 1:00.2 at Del Mar for trainer Bob Baffert. She was 5-for-5 heading into her most recent start, finishing second in the Black-Eyed Susan (G2).
