Monday work tab features Mystik Dan, Thorpedo Anna, 15 more
Mystik Dan worked Monday for the first time since his ninth-place finish in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational in January. He joined his stablemate, horse of the year Thorpedo Anna, on the Monday-morning work tab.
The 2024 Kentucky Derby winner breezed three furlongs in 36.0 seconds at Oaklawn, fastest of three at the distance.
Co-owner Lance Gasaway told Paulick Report that he didn't know whether Mystik Dan would be ready to race before the Oaklawn meet concludes on May 3.
The Goldencents colt is 0-for-4 since his Kentucky Derby win for trainer Kenny McPeek. He was second in the Preakness and eighth in the Belmont Stakes. He took a break afterward, then returned to finish sixth in the Malibu (G1) ahead of the Pegasus.
