Gigante, who closed out 2023 with two stakes victories. worked at Fair Grounds on Monday for trainer Steve Asmussen.

The Not This Time colt breezed five furlongs in 1:00.6, the second fastest of 24 at the distance. 

Gigante was 4-for-8 last year, including his first graded score in the Grade 2 Secretariat. He finished the year with wins in listed stakes at Churchill Downs and Fair Grounds.

Gigante (Not This Time), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Secretariat), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the second fastest of 24 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Woodchopper going one mile on the turf at Fair Grounds on Dec. 30 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Honor Marie (Honor Code), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Kentucky Jockey Club), worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 24 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer D. Beckman.

Scaramouche (Munnings), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Gallant Bob), worked four furlongs in 47.9 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going seven furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 20 for trainer Guadalupe Preciado.

Best Actor (Flatter), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Smarty Jones), worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Fair Grounds on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 24 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 23 for trainer Brad Cox.

Bold Journey (Hard Spun), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Fall Highweight Handicap), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Payson Park on Monday morning. It was the fastest of three works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start he won the Gravesend going six furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 30 for trainer Bill Mott.

Giant Game (Giant's Causeway), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap), worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 14 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed eighth in the Clark (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 24 for trainer Dale Romans.

Petulante (Arrogate), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Salvator Mile), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Belmont Park on Monday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 23 works at the distance.
