Todd Pletcher trains Monba, a career earner of $664,534 who has made six of his nine career starts on synthetic surfaces. The Maria’s Mon colt earned his first stakes win in the 2008 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) on Keeneland Race Course’s Polytrack surface prior to finishing last of 20 in last year’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1).
Monba is one of 13 horses three years old and older entered in the Dixie Stakes. The field also includes multiple graded stakes winners Proudinsky (Ger), Wesley, and Kiss the Kid, and graded stakes winners Lauro (Ger), Strike a Deal, and Parading.
Multiple Grade 1-placed winner Just as Well and French Group 3 winner Musketier (Ger) were also entered.
