Mizz Money keeps her head in front to win the Gallorette

Making her debut on the Pimlico Race Course turf, L.T.B. Inc. and Hillerich Racing Inc.’s homebred Mizz Money emerged from a three-horse photo with a head victory in the 65th running of the $150,000 Stella Artois Gallorette (G3) on Saturday.

Trained by Bernie Flint, Mizz Money ($11.80) stalked pacesetting Josdesanimaux through six furlongs, edged away to a short lead in mid-stretch and held off late bids from 70-1 long shot Vielsalm and Heath for her second graded-stakes victory.

The winning time over a good turf course was 1:45.93 for 1 1/16 miles. Vielsalm was second, a nose ahead of Heath with Flying Tipat closing late for fourth.

Winner of the Pucker Up (G3) last August at Arlington Park, the 4-year-old Mizzen Mast filly earned her second straight narrow victory following her nose win in the New Orleans Ladies Stakes March 26.

It was the fourth career Gallorette victory for jockey Javier Castellano and second straight, following Watsdachances in 2015. He also won with Zagora in 2012 and Ozone Bere in 2006.
