To honor the memory of Everett, who
passed away March 23 at 90, Betfair Hollywood Park will rename the Milady
Handicap, a fixture on the Spring/Summer calendar, the Marjorie L. Everett
Handicap.
A gathering will be held in the Gold
Cup Room immediately after the last race, which will be the Marjorie L. Everett
Handicap.
Those wishing to share their
memories of Everett, who was part of track management from 1972-1991, will be
able to do so.
A Grade II for fillies and mares at
1 1/16 miles over Cushion Track, the Milady has been won twice in the past by
such stars as A Gleam, Adored, Azeri, Bayakoa, Paseana and Zenyatta.
The May 19 program will also include
the simulcast of the Preakness Stakes from Pimlico.
