Henry Cecil paid tribute to Midday after he confirmed the brilliant mare has run her last race.
The daughter of Oasis Dream ran 23 times in her career, winning nine races, of which six were Group Ones.
She won £2,239,007 in win and place prize-money, and played a huge part in catapulting Cecil back towards the top of the sport.
Midday landed the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood three years in succession, and was also Cecil's first winner at the Breeders' Cup when winning the Filly & Mare Turf under Tom Queally in 2009.
