MIDDAY became the first filly to win the Nassau Stakes three times with a popular success for Sir Henry Cecil on the final day of Glorious Goodwood.

Cecil was winning the race for a record eighth time as Midday posted her sixth win at the highest level and took her career earnings past the £2 million mark as she saw off globetrotter Snow Fairy. The winner's stablemate Principal Role finished third.

Midday was sent off the 6-4 favourite despite having her colours lowered in each of her last two starts, most recently by Misty For Me at the Curragh, and she rewarded her supporters with a polished performance to give Cecil and Queally their fifth success each in the inaugural Qipco British Champions Series.
