Along with champions such as California Chrome and Main Sequence, Valiant Boy is headed to Dubai for the $30 million World Cup on Saturday, March 28.

But Valiant Boy isn't traveling to Dubai to compete against the world's top Thoroughbreds. The 7-year-old French-bred is headed to the United Arab Emirates to run in the world's richest purebred Arabian horse race - the $1 million Dubai Kahayla Classic.

Based at Fair Hill with trainer Elizabeth 'Liz' Merryman for owner Guy Neivens, Valiant Boy left Tuesday from Newark, DE and flew to Florida, where he was joined by dual Eclipse champion Main Sequence on his way to Dubai. The former Arabian Horse of the Year will then prepare for the 1 1/4 mile Kahayla Classic.

Merryman, trainer of two-time Maryland Millions turf winner and Alphabet Soup Handicap winner Roadhog, spoke to Gabby Gaudet about the trip to Dubai last weekend after Valiant Boy went "perfect" during a workout at Laurel.
