Grade 1 winner Maxfield will shuttle to Argentina for stud duty

Maxfield, winner of six graded stakes, will shuttle to Argentina for stud duty, Darley America announced Wednesday.

The son of Street Sense out of the Bernardini mare Velvety stands at Darley's Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Ky., for a fee of $40,000.

Trained by Brendan Walsh, Maxfield retired after his 4-year-old campaign with a career record of 11: 8-2-1 and earnings of $2,001,812.

His graded-stakes wins came in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) in 2019, the Matt Winn (G3) in 2020, and the Mineshaft (G3), Alysheba (G1), Stephen Foster (G2) and Clark (G1) in 2021.
