Max Player, Shancelot lead graded stakes works on Tuesday
Max Player, who is pointed to the Travers Stakes following his third-place effort in the Belmont Stakes, worked for trainer Linda Rice on Tuesday, while Tonalist's Shape, probable for the Coaching Club American Oaks, put in a bullet work for Saffie Joseph Jr. Also, Shancelot, working at Keeneland, is now in the hands of trainer Steve Asmussen after last coming in second in the Breeders' Cup Sprint for Jorge Navarro.
Max Player (Honor Code), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Withers), worked 5 furlongs in 1:02.5 at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the third fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going 4 furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start, he placed third in the Belmont, going 1 1/8 Miles on the main track at Belmont Park on June 20 for trainer Linda Rice. Max Player is probable for the G1 Travers Stakes next on Aug. 8.
Shancelot (Shanghai Bobby), a Grade 2 winner (2019 Amsterdam) who is now in the hands of trainer Steve Asmussen, worked four furlongs in 48.6 at Keeneland on Tuesday morning. It was the 16th fastest of 30 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago, going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start, he placed second in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, going 6 furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita Park on Nov. 2 for trainer Jorge Navarro.

This is her first work since her last race, when she won the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 12 for trainer Chad Brown.
Tonalist’s Shape (Tonalist), a Grade 2 winner (2020 Davona Dale), worked three furlongs in 34.2 at Saratoga on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of 17 works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going five furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start, she won the Hollywood Wildcat, going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Gulfstream Park on May 15 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Tonalist's Shape is probable for the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks on July 18.
Mo Forza (Uncle Mo), a Grade 1 winner (2019 Hollywood Derby), worked five furlongs in 1:01.6 at Del Mar on Tuesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 13 works at the distance.
