Massive mandatory Pick 6 payout set for Sunday at Santa Anita

A massive three-day combined Pick Six carryover of $821,858 will await fans at Santa Anita Park on closing Sunday. With mandatory payouts in effect in all exotic wagers, track officials project the total Pick Six pool will approach $4 million.

With a two-day carryover of $160,472 to shoot at on Saturday, $900,769 in “new” money was wagered, creating a total pool today of $1,061,241.  With a conventional carryover of $641,690 coupled with a Single Ticket Jackpot carryover of $180,168, the combined closing day carryover stands at $821,858.


Sunday’s
 Pick Six will begin in Race 6, which has an approximate post time of 3:15 p.m. PT.  With 52 horses eligible to run, average Pick Six field size for closing day is at 8.6 runners per race.

The Grade 3, $100,000 Wilshire Stakes, for fillies and mares 3 and up at one mile on turf, has been carded as race nine, which is the fourth leg in the Pick Six. Trainer Jim Cassidy’s recent Grade 1 winner Sophie P has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite with Kent Desormeaux up.
