Jockey Rajiv Maragh was discharged from the hospital tonight after a spill earlier today at Saratoga Race Course.
Maragh fell to the ground when his mount, Pico Dinero, stumbled and lost his footing on the backstretch in the 7th race at Saratoga, a one-mile maiden claiming race on the inner turf course.
The 25-year-old Jamaica-native was alert and taken to Albany Medical Center, where x-rays were negative. He will follow up with doctors on Thursday, and potentially could be cleared to ride.
Pico Dinero, a 3-year-old gelding trained by Dominick Schettino, was unharmed in the incident.
