Mach Three Scores at Colonial Downs

Mach Three overtook Mojito Man in mid stretch then continued on to victory after a thrilling stretch duel between the two 7 year olds in Sunday’s $23,200 featured race at Colonial Downs.

Ridden by Luis Garcia, the Pasquel Pane-trained Mach Three settled in mid pack after the start.  After angling out in the upper stretch, Mach Three took command near the sixteenth pole and inched past Mojito Man in the final strides to claim victory.  This was Mach Three’s second win in a row following a June 7 triumph at Colonial Downs by a neck.  Favorite Hesa Big Star also dueled but tired in the final sixteenth of the 5 ½ furlong race.  The final time was 1:02.66.

Bred in Kentucky by Overbrook farm, Mach Three has seven first place finishes out of 33 lifetime starts and has earned a bankroll of over $130,000.
