Led by two Pick 5 wagers and an all-stakes late Pick 4, Colonial Downs is offering a tantalizing wagering menu for Saturday evening’s 10-race program featuring the return of the Grade 3, $250,000 New Kent County Virginia Derby.

Through the investment of the Colonial Downs Group, a subsidiary of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, Colonial Downs has experienced a racing revival for the 2019 season, and Saturday’s program will feature the return of the Virginia  Derby and the $150,000 Fasig-Tipton Virginia Oaks after a six-year hiatus in the Old Dominion.

Saturday’s card will begin at 5 p.m. ET with the early Pick 5 (Races 1-5), which features an industry-low 12% takeout, and a 50-cent minimum wager.

Following the Rosie’s will be the $100,000 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Kitten’s Joy Stakes for 2-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles; the $150,000 Fasig-Tipton Virginia Oaks for 3-year-old fillies; and the $250,000 New Kent County Virginia Derby for 3-year-olds, to conclude the late Pick 4.

The 10th race, a 1 1/16-mile maiden claiming event for fillies and mares, with 14 entered, will close out the late Pick 5.

Both the late Pick 4 and the late Pick 5 will have a 50-cent minimum wager.
