Louisiana Derby, Jeff Ruby Steaks anchor 50-cent Pick 5

Fair Grounds Racecourse and Turfway Park will team together Saturday to offer bettors a special 50-cent Pick 5 that features an all-stakes sequence led by the Grade 2, $1 million Louisiana Derby and Grade 3, $700,000 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3).

Dubbed the Bayou Bluegrass 5, the special wager will have a 50-cent minimum denomination and 15 percent takeout. The wager will have a mandatory payout at the end of the sequence.

The sequence will begin at Fair Grounds in Race 9 for the New Orleans Classic (G2) at 5:04 p.m. EDT.

The second leg will switch to Turfway Park for the listed Bourbonette Oaks with a scheduled post time of 5:43 p.m. EDT. The third leg will go feature the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) at 6:12 p.m. The Jeff Ruby Steaks will be the penultimate leg of the bet at 6:25 p.m. EDT, and it will close at Fair Grounds for the Louisiana Derby at 6:46 p.m.EDT.

Fair Grounds’ Louisiana Derby Day card was drawn Saturday (see the field here), and the fields at Turfway for the Bourbonette Oaks and Jeff Ruby Steaks will be drawn Tuesday.

Fans can wager on the Bayou Bluegrass 5 at wagering outlets across the country.
