Lost Soldier Dies at 20

Lost Soldier, sire of champion Lost in the Fog, was found dead in his paddock Sept. 7 at Doug Arnold’s Buck Pond Farm near Versailles, Ky. The cause of death is believed to have been a heart attack.

“He hadn’t been sick and was in good health,” Arnold said.

Wimborne Farm was the breeder of Kentucky-bred Lost Soldier, who was produced from the Irish group-placed Secretariat mare Lady Winborne, a fourth-generation descendant of La Troienne.
