For a number of Breeders' Cup contenders, it's race on Saturday, sell on Sunday as they'll go through the auction ring at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale in Lexington, Ky.
There are some heavy hitters entered, including champion Caledonia Road (hip 168); the Royal Ascot hero Lady Aurelia (hip 200); Love the Chase, dam of California Chrome in foal to Uncle Mo (hip 218); and Stopchargingmaria, the 2015 Breeders' Cup Distaff winner in foal to Tapit.
The one-day sale begins at 3 p.m. ET. Last year's session produced a median sale price of $250,000, highlighted by Songbird, who commanded $9.5 million.
