Little Alexis, beaten only a length in the $500,000 Test (G1) at
Saratoga Aug. 2 in just her third career start, could be headed to Parx
and the $1 million Cotillion (G1).
Trainer Carlo Vaccarezza said earlier this week that the Mr. Greeley
filly, who finished third behind Sweet Reason in the Test by a length
and was beaten a nose for the place by Miss Behavior, came out of the
Test in good shape and could head to Parx for the Sept. 20 Cotillion.
"Unfortunately, we didn't get the best of trips (in the Test), but she
came out of the race good," Vacarezza said. "She's back here (at
Gulfstream) in South Florida and she's doing well. I know (the
Cotillion) could come up tough with Untapable and Sweet Reason, but the
distance should really suit my filly."
Little Alexis broke her maiden at first asking Feb. 9 at Gulfstream
before being forced to the sidelines with a stone bruise. She returned
to win the July 5 Cash Run Stakes before her game performance in the
Test.
