Life Is Good remains atop World's Best Racehorse rankings

Three equally rated horses from across the globe have joined the Top 5 in the third edition of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2022. Remaining the joint top performers as of the May 8, 2022 listing are Pegasus World Cup (G1) winner Life Is Good and TJ Smith Stakes (G1) winner Nature Strip (AUS), with Gulfstream Park Mile (G2) and Carter Handicap (G1) winner Speaker's Corner one point behind in third.

Coroebus (IRE) [121], Jackie's Warrior [121], and Titleholder (JPN) [121] all posted impressive performances in the past month and are now co-fifth along with previously ranked Country Grammer [121] and Golden Pal [121].

In his first start of the season, Coroebus defeated his stablemate Native Trail (GB) [119] by three-quarters of a length in the Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes (G1) in England.

In North America, Jackie’s Warrior powered to a four-length victory in the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) on Kentucky Derby Day. He came into the race off a win in the Count Fleet Sprint Handicap (G3) in April.

Meanwhile, in Japan, Titleholder pulled away by seven lengths en route to his score in the Tenno Sho (Spring) (G1). He began his season with a win in the Nikkei Sho (G2) in March.

Other newcomers to this month’s rankings include Geoglyph (JPN) [119] and Rich Strike [119]. Geoglyph took the Satsuki Sho (G1) by one length to earn his rating, while Rich Strike sprung an upset in the Kentucky Derby (G1), which he won by three-quarters of a length.
