Leatherbury, Xtra Heat to be Honored Saturday at Laurel Park

The Maryland Racing Media Association’s (MRMA) Crab Feast Scholarship and Charity Auction Banquet will take place Saturday evening at 6 p.m. in the Carriage Room at Laurel Park.
The MRMA will honor Hall of Fame trainer King Leatherbury, outgoing Maryland Racing Commission chairman Bruce Quade, the connections of champion sprinter Xtra Heat, and Northview Stallion Station’s Richard Golden.
The MRMA will also hand out approximately $25,000 in scholarships to Maryland residents attending colleges and universities. There will also be a silent auction featuring American Pharoah and other racing memorabilia along with tickets to local sporting events.
The MRMA is supported in part by the Maryland Jockey Club, Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and the Maryland Horse Breeders’ Association

Tax deductible tickets to the event, which includes all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, buffet dinner and beer and wine, is $60 per person and $550 for a table of ten. For more information call 301.459.4408 or go to the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association office at Laurel Park.
