Las Vegas' Belmont Stakes 2018 odds offer value on Audible

Earlier this week, we introduced early 2018 Belmont Stakes odds based on the current probable field. The Wynn Las Vegas has expanded on that, opening up wagering for 15 possible interests ahead of the June 9 race.

Justify, who will be running for a Triple Crown sweep, is the 4-5 favorite.

Interestingly, Preakness Stakes runner up Bravazo and Audible, who was third in the Kentucky Derby, are co-second choices at 7-1. Bravazo is a near lock to run, while Audible, who shares ownership with Justify, is merely possible at this point. That could explain the value offered.

The same could apply to My Boy Jack at 8-1, as he went off the second choice in the Derby and also shares connections to Justify. My Boy Jack is followed on the board by three horses considered probable: Vino Rosso at 11-1, then both Tenfold and Hofbug at 12-1.

The odds range up to 75-1 on Just Whistle, the third-place finisher in the Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes, a local prep for the Belmont.

On the board are at least two horses who definitely will not run in the Belmont Stakes.

Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin confirmed Tuesday that Enticed (30-1) is not under consideration, but he could run in the Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes on July 3. Owner Ron Paolucci also said Machismo is targeting the Grade 3 Ohio Derby on June 23.
