Ky. Derby works: Further Ado drills for Brad Cox

Further Ado drilled at Churchill Downs on Sunday ahead of his start in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club on Saturday at Churchill Downs.

The son of Gun Runner won a maiden special weight at Keeneland last time out.

The 2-year-old breezed four furlongs in 48.8 seconds, 19th fastest of 125 at the distance. This marked his second timed work since breaking his maiden.

Further Ado posted a 98 Beyer Speed Figure in that Oct. 10 victory at Keeneland, according to Daily Racing Form. He came home third in a maiden special weight at Saratoga on Aug. 30 and fifth in his debut there on July 26.

Further Ado has a career record of 3: 1-0-1 with earnings of $78,233 for owner Spendthrift Farm and trainer Brad Cox.

A. P. Again (Honor A. P.) worked three furlongs in 35.6 seconds at Del Mar on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of 12 works at the distance. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going five furlongs on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Doug O'Neill.

Brigante (More Than Ready) worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 20 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Oct. 30 for trainer Doug O'Neill.

Bull by the Horns (Essential Quality) worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Sunday morning. It was the 11th fastest of 44 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 1 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

Dr. Kapur (McKinzie) worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Churchill Downs on Sunday morning. It was the third fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he won a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 16 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

Litmus Test (Nyquist) worked five furlongs in 1:00.0 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of 24 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Oct. 31 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Parker Boone (Solomini) worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Parx on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of seven works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won a maiden race going six furlongs on the main track at Parx on Nov. 4 for trainer Butch Reid.

Plutarch (Into Mischief) worked five furlongs in 1:00.0 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of 24 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Oct. 31 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Stradale (Yaupon) worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Churchill Downs on Sunday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he won a maiden race going six furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on Oct. 26 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
