Ky. Derby prospects: Jace's Road, Demolition Duke lead tab
Thirteen horses who have taken money in Las Vegas Kentucky Derby futures had published works across the country Sunday and Monday.
The one last-out winner among recent workers is Demolition Duke, who broke his maiden on debut Feb. 5 at Fair Grounds. He appears to have come out of a good race: the second-place horse, Bo Cruz, returned Saturday to graduate by 12 1/4 easy lengths in a maiden special weight at Fair Grounds. Demolition Duke, trained by Brad Cox, worked four furlongs in 51.2 seconds Sunday morning.
Other recent workers include Jace's Road, who currently has 15 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. He earned 10 of those points with a win in the Gun Runner at Fair Grounds, though the Brad Cox trainee was most recently seen finishing fifth in the Southwest (G3).
