Ky. Derby contenders: 6 futures choices are on Sunday tab

Two-time stakes winner Book’em Danno, who has odds of 150-1 in Las Vegas futures to win Kentucky Derby 2024, worked five furlongs Sunday at Tampa Bay Downs.

The 2-year-old Bucchero gelding trained by Derek Ryan was clocked at 1:00.6 for the breeze. It was Book’em Danno’s second workout since he finished second to Where’s Chris on Nov. 5 in the Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct.

Kentucky Derby odds: 240 horses are in Nevada futures.

Six horses listed in the Las Vegas futures for the Derby had workouts Sunday.

Book’em Danno (Bucchero), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Tampa Bay Downs on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of 14 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Tampa Bay Downs. In his last start he placed second in the Nashua going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 5 for trainer Derek Ryan.

Ship to Shore (Sea Wizard), worked four furlongs in 47.5 seconds at Gulfstream Park. It was the second fastest of 32 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed seventh in the Pulpit going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 9 for trainer Eddie Owens Jr.

Awesome Road (Quality Road), worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Fair Grounds. It was the seventh fastest of 21 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed fifth in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Brad Cox.

The Process (More Than Ready), worked four furlongs in 51.0 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the seventh fastest of 11 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed 10th in an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Cherie DeVaux.

Catching Freedom (Constitution), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Fair Grounds. It was the eighth fastest of 21 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 9 for Cox.

Big Prankster (Practical Joke), worked four furlongs in 50.8 seconds at Belmont Park on Sunday morning. It was the 24th fastest of 40 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going three furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he won a maiden race going six furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 2 for trainer Christophe Clément.
