King Congie out of Spiral Stakes

King Congie was scratched from the March 26 Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes (gr. III) at Turfway Park on the morning of the race.
Terry Finley, president of owner West Point Thoroughbreds, said the colt strained a hind muscle during a gallop at Turfway the day before the race and will be pointed toward the Toyota Blue Grass (gr. I) or Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland.
“He didn’t cool out well,” said Finley. “He’s about 90%, but not 100%.”
