Kentucky Oaks notes: Just F Y I walks shedrow after strong work

Churchill Downs provided this list of updates for the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks contenders, including the day-after activities of champion 2-year-old filly of 2023, Just F Y I.

Gin Gin, Tarifa. Gin Gin and Tarifa, two of trainer Brad Cox’s Kentucky Oaks hopefuls, both galloped about 1 1/2 miles on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. EDT

The duo will have their final breeze before the Oaks on Friday or Saturday.

Into Champagne. Into Champagne galloped about 1 1/2 miles on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. with trainer Ian Wilkes watching from the clocker stand.

Just F Y I. Ashland (G1) runner-up Just F Y I had a scheduled walk day at Bill Mott’s barn 19 following her strong five-furlong move in 59.8 seconds on Monday at Churchill Downs.

Lemon Muffin. Lemon Muffin returned to the track on Tuesday for the first time since her five-eighths work in 1:02.20 on Saturday morning.

Trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Lemon Muffin had an easy gallop at 5:30 a.m.

Leslie's Rose. Ashland winner Leslie’s Rose galloped 1 3/8 miles under Joel Osorio for trainer Todd Pletcher. She is scheduled to work Thursday morning.

Pletcher said Leslie’s Rose would make a couple of trips to the starting gate and have a couple of paddock-schooling sessions next week.

Regulatory Risk, Ways and Means. Regulatory Risk and Ways and Means both galloped a mile and a half on their first day on track at Churchill Downs.

“The first day on the track was excellent. They were moving well,” trainer Chad Brown said of the fillies who arrived at Churchill Downs on Monday morning.

Peter Roman was on Ways and Means, and Gudiel Alvarez was on Regulatory Risk.

Tapit Jenallie. Tapit Jenallie stood in the mile chute for about 15 minutes and then headed to the frontside of the track under trainer Eddie Milligan Jr.

“She went to the paddock, visited the gate and stood at the three-sixteenths pole for a while before galloping a mile and a half,” said Milligan, who has another nine horses stabled at the nearby Trackside Training Center.

Tapit Jenallie is scheduled to work on Thursday with jockey Manny Esquivel up.

Thorpedo Anna. Thorpedo Anna galloped a mile and a half for trainer Kenny McPeek.

Winner of three of four starts with the most recent coming in the Fantasy (G2), Thorpedo Anna is scheduled to work on Friday.

Where's My Ring. Where’s My Ring galloped a mile and a half under exercise rider David Rodriguez for trainer Val Brinkerhoff.

Winner of the Gazelle (G3) in her most recent start, Where’s My Ring is scheduled to work a half-mile on Friday for Brinkerhoff who has three other horses here and another 24 at Santa Anita.

Also Eligibles. Manama Gold and Candied galloped a mile and three-eighths for trainer Todd Pletcher. Jonathan Fabian Aguilar was on Manama Gold and Carlos Quevedo on Candied. The two are scheduled to work Thursday.
