Consequent rallied from off the pace to upset 2-5 favorite Nimah in Saturday's Grade 2, $200,000 Starlet for 2-year-old fillies at Los Alamitos.

Kazushi Kimura rode the victory for trainer Bob Baffert, who extended his remarkable winning streak in the 1 1/16-mile race.

Cashed broke alertly and established the early lead through fractions of 23.52 and 48.01 seconds with Nimah tracking in second. Consequent (5-2), making just her second career start, settled off the pace under Kimura as the field traveled through three-quarters of a mile in 1:12.46.

Nimah moved to challenge Cashed through the far turn, but Consequent found another gear in the stretch and swept past both rivals to secure the victory. Cashed held on for second, and Nimah faded to third after challenging for the lead.

The final time was 1:44.03 on the fast main track.

Consequent paid $7.60 and $4.00. There was no show wagering. Cashed (7-1), ridden by Tiago Pereira for trainer Doug O'Neill, returned $6.20 to place. Nimah, also trained by Baffert with Juan Hernandez aboard, completed the trifecta.

Cosmic Heat finished fourth and Jewlz fifth. Himika was scratched.

The $1 exacta returned $22.60 and the $1 trifecta paid $13.00. The 10-cent superfecta was worth $7.26.

The victory earned Consequent 10 Kentucky Oaks qualifying points, with Cashed picking up five, Nimah three, Cosmic Heat two and Jewlz one.

An Into Mischief filly bred and owned by Juddmonte, Consequent won her debut going a mile Nov. 14 at Del Mar. She improved her record to 2-for-2 with Saturday's graded stakes score.
