Race 11 (G1 Longines Kentucky Oaks, 1 1/8 miles)

Monomoy Girl was full of fight in Kentucky Oaks 2018. The 5-2 second choice overcame post 14, sat just off the pace and used all she had to shrug off a charging Wonder Gadot in the stretch. Midnight Bisou, the 2-1 favorite, came running too late and only managed third. Eskimo Kisses captured fourth and Chocolate Martini was fifth. It was the first Kentucky Oaks win for winning trainer and Louisville native Brad Cox.

Jockey John Velazquez, runner-up aboard Wonder Gadot, claimed foul against Monomoy Girl and Florent Geroux for a slight bump during the stretch duel but the stewards made no change.

The wins was worth $7.20, $4.60 and $3.60. Wonder Gadot, 16-1, returned $14.00 and $7.20 and Midnight Bisou paid $3.20.
