Kentucky Derby works: West Omaha leads 16 in futures

West Omaha worked at Oaklawn on Sunday in a tune-up for Saturday's Grade 3 Honeybee Stakes.

Trainer Brad Cox scratched the West Coast filly from last Saturday's Rachel Alexandra (G2), which was won by stablemate Tarifa. Both races offer 50-25-15-10-5 Kentucky Oaks qualifying points to the top five finishers.

West Omaha, who has two wins and two seconds from four starts, breezed four furlongs in 49.4 seconds, 29th fastest of 76 at the distance. She most recently won the Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds by five lengths.

Antonio of Venice (Laoban) worked four furlongs in 48.9 seconds at Belmont Park on Sunday morning. It was the fastest of 69 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed second in the Rego Park going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Jan. 28 for trainer Rudy Rodriguez.

Blown Cover (Gun Runner) worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the 47th fastest of 75 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going one mile and 70 yards on the main track at Fair Grounds on Jan. 7 for trainer Brad Cox.

Carson's Run (Cupid) worked three furlongs in 41.0 seconds at Payson Park on Sunday morning. It was the fourth fastest of five works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 for trainer Christophe Clement.

Ethan Energy (Uncle Mo) worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 75 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed fourth in the Lecomte (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on Jan. 20 for trainer Brad Cox.

Glengarry (Maximus Mischief) worked three furlongs in 37.6 seconds at Oaklawn on Sunday morning. It was the third fastest of four works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Remington Springboard Mile going one mile on the main track at Remington Park on Dec. 15 for trainer Doug Anderson.

Ignite the Light (Into Mischief) worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the 87th fastest of 125 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fourth in a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 2 for trainer Rick Dutrow.

Next Level (Vino Rosso) worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the 28th fastest of 75 works at the distance. In his last start he won a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 26 for trainer Brad Cox.

Run Jalen Run (Runhappy) worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Oaklawn on Sunday morning. It was the 18th fastest of 29 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in a maiden race going six furlongs on the main track at Oaklawn on Feb. 3 for trainer Joe Sharp.

Slider (Jimmy Creed) worked five furlongs in 59.4 seconds at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the second fastest of 121 works at the distance. Coach Prime (Quality Road) worked five furlongs in 1:02.0 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the 87th fastest of 121 works at the distance.
