Kentucky Derby works: Sovereignty leads 6 onto Tuesday tab
Sovereignty, the second choice in Las Vegas futures betting for Kentucky Derby 2025, returned to the work tab after a nearly two-month break.
The homebred Godolphin colt breezed three furlongs in 38.0 seconds at Payson Park in Florida on Tuesday morning. Trainer Bill Mott has not declared publicly when and where the son of Into Mischief may make his 3-year-old debut.

Sovereignty set a stakes record Oct. 27 when he went two turns for the first time to win the 1 1/16-mile Street Sense at Churchill Downs, earning him 10 points toward qualifying for the Derby. He carries futures odds of 19-1, second at Caesars Sports in Nevada only to Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) winner Journalism, who is 17-1.

Sovereignty (Into Mischief), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Street Sense), worked three furlongs in 38.0 seconds at Payson Park on Tuesday morning. It was the 11th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Street Sense (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Oct. 27 for trainer Bill Mott.
Burning Glory (Into Mischief) worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Payson Park. It was the fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Dec. 1 for Mott.
Chasing Liberty (Constitution) worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Fair Grounds. It was the seventh fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Rob Atras.
Corvus (Vino Rosso) worked four furlongs in 51.0 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the 60th fastest of 97 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 6 for trainer José Jiménez.
Giocoso (Not This Time) worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds at Fair Grounds. It was the 17th fastest of 26 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 8 for trainer Keith Desormeaux.
Tux (Tapit) worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Payson Park. It was the 10th fastest of 30 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Remsen (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 7 for Mott.
