Ky. Derby workouts: 2 graded winners lead 4 contenders
Two graded-stakes winners were among four from Kentucky Derby futures with published works Sunday morning.
Can Group, winner of the Grade 2 Bourbon for trainer Mark Casse, went four furlongs in 51.8 seconds at Fair Grounds. He remained on the grass for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, finishing fourth.
Honor Marie, last-out winner of the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2), also worked at Fair Grounds breezing three furlongs in 37.2 seconds for trainer Whit Beckman.

Can Group (Good Samaritan), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Bourbon), worked four furlongs in 51.8 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the 52nd fastest of 58 works at the distance. His previous work was 21 days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 for trainer Mark Casse.
Honor Marie (Honor Code), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Kentucky Jockey Club), worked three furlongs in 37.2 seconds at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 15 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Whit Beckman.
Awesome Road (Quality Road), worked five furlongs in 1:01.8 at Fair Grounds on Sunday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 28 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed fifth in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Brad Cox.
