The 2020 Kentucky Derby will offer a 10-cent minimum superfecta wager. The superfecta minimum for previous Kentucky Derby's was $1, which was done to mitigate long lines at the betting windows on Derby Day, a problem that will not exist during a 2020 Derby that will have severely limited attendance.
As was first noted by HorsePlayerNow on Twitter, the Churchill Downs website lists the superfecta minimum as ten cents for this year's Kentucky Derby. The Daily Double and Super High-5 start at $1; while Trifecta, Pick-3, Pick-4 and Pick-5 wagers will have a 50-cent minimum. The 'Single-6' pick 6 starts at $.20.

The Exacta is a $2 minimum with $1 boxes and wheels. The Oaks Day and Derby Day Pick 6's, which is a separate event from the regular Oaks Day card, is a $2 minimum.
Over the last 20 years, there have been some significant payouts in the $1 superfecta, including a $432,127 payout in the 2005 edition of the Run for the Roses, which was won by Giacomo. The lowest payout came in 2016, when the race was won by favorite Nyquist and the payout was $542.
Last year’s $1 Superfecta, which saw Country House elevated to the top spot via disqualification, paid out $51,400. The Kentucky Derby is scheduled for Sept. 5. Fans will be encouraged to wager online whether on-track or elsewhere in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. See the wagering menu for Kentucky Derby week via the Churchill Downs web site here. Post time for this year's Kentucky Derby is set for 6:50 ET. The Kentucky Oaks on Sept. 4 has a scheduled post time of 5:45 p.m. ET.
