Authentic got the better of odds-on favorite Tiz the Law in Saturday's 146th Kentucky Derby to score as the 8-1 third choice in the wagering. While the Exacta returned a modest $41 for a $2 wager, Mr. Big News checking in third at 45-1 did plenty to spice up the other single-race exotic wagers.

The top five finishers of the Kentucky Derby were #18 Authentic, #17 Tiz the Law, #9 Mr. Big News, # 16 Honor A.P. – the 7-1 second choice in the wagering – and #2 Max Player (19-1).

The 50-cent Trifecta of 18-17-9 returned $655.90, while the Superfecta – which for the first time was a 10-cent minimum wager – returned $792.58 for a dime. The Super High 5, which requires picking the top 5 finishers in exact order – paid a whopping $77,251.20 for $1 dollar.

The Single 6 Jackpot Wager, which consisted entirely of stakes, returned a cool $278,513.60 for a 20 cent base wager.
