Kentucky Derby Futures: Odds for contenders shift slightly

With the 2020 Kentucky Derby less than two weeks away, Tiz the Law remains the clear favorite in the William Hill Kentucky Derby Futures, unmoved from the 4/5 odds that he held last week. However, elsewhere on the board, some of the favorites in the Sept. 5 Run for the Roses saw their odds move slightly.

Art Collector remains the clear second choice following his win in the Ellis Park Derby on Aug. 9, but saw his odds get slightly longer this week, dropping from 4/1 to 9/2. He opened at 125/1.

The only other horse with single-digit odds continues to be Honor A. P., who maintains his 7/1 odds. He opened at 50/1.

Making his first appearance on the William Hill futures is Shirl’s Speight, who was announced as a Derby horse this week despite not having any points in the Road to the Kentucky Derby standings. The colt opens at 100/1 odds.

Winning Impression also appeared in this week’s futures, opening 150/1.

Other changes in odds this week come from Sole Volante, who moved from 60/1 to 50/1 after opening at 150/1, Finnick the Fierce, who went from 150/1 to 125/1 after opening at 100/1 and King Guillermo, who moved from 22/1 to 24/1.
