Kentucky Derby 2026 works: Obliteration leads tab

Obliteration drilled at Fair Grounds on Thursday ahead of his expected start in the Saudi Derby.

The son of Violence came home first in the Renaissance at Oaklawn Park last time out. The 3-year-old breezed five furlongs in 1:01.0 seconds, fourth fastest of 18 at the distance.

Obliteration captured the Sanford (G3) at Saratoga on July 5. He placed second in the Saratoga Special (G2) at Saratoga on Aug. 2. He has a career record of 7: 3-3-0 with earnings of $593,550 for owners Leland Ackerley Racing, James Sherwood, Jode Shupe and John Cilia.

Obliteration was one of 8 graded-stakes winners with published works on Thursday.

Attfield (Vekoma) worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Belmont Park on Thursday morning. It was the 29th fastest of 76 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he won the Central Park going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on Nov. 7 for trainer Tom Morley.

Brant (Gun Runner), a Grade 1 winner (2025 Del Mar Futurity), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 17 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Oct. 31 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Curtain Call (Tiz the Law) worked three furlongs in 37.6 seconds at Casse Training Center on Thursday morning. It was the only work at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed sixth in the Champagne (G1) going one mile on the main track at Belmont at the Big A on Oct. 4 for trainer Mark Casse.

Englishman (Maxfield) worked three furlongs in 39.2 seconds at Fair Grounds on Thursday morning. It was the fifth fastest of eight works at the distance. His previous work was 104 days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he won a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on Sept. 19 for trainer Cherie DeVaux.

His previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he won the Renaissance going six furlongs on the main track at Oaklawn on Jan. 3 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Stradale (Yaupon) worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Fair Grounds on Thursday morning. It was the 49th fastest of 95 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed third in the Ed Brown going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 29 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Talkin (Good Magic) worked four furlongs in 50.5 seconds at Palm Meadows on Thursday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going three furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed ninth in the Remsen (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 6 for trainer Danny Gargan.
