Kentucky Derby 2026 futures: D'code joins the board
D'code, a Speightstown colt trained by Ray Ashford, joined the Kentucky Derby 2026 futures board this week at 25-1 at Caesars Sportsbook Nevada.
The newcomer is slated to run in the Grade 3 Southwest on Saturday at Oaklawn. Strategic Risk, listed at 40-1, also is expected to contest the Southwest.
Ted Noffey, the undefeated Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner trained by Todd Pletcher, held firm as the 8-1 favorite Monday morning. The Into Mischief colt is expected to make his 3-year-old debut in the Fountain of Youth (G2) on Feb. 28 at Gulfstream Park.
Paladin remained the second choice at 10-1, followed by Cannoneer at 15-1, Further Ado at 18-1 and Commandment at 20-1. Paladin is expected to start next in the Risen Star (G2) on Feb. 14 at Fair Grounds.
So Happy, who upset favored Buetane in the San Vicente Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita on Jan. 10, was cut from 75-1 to 60-1. The Runhappy colt, trained by Mark Glatt, stalked in third before drawing off to win by two lengths.
Jackson Hole, a Nyquist colt trained by Todd Pletcher, was shortened from 90-1 to 65-1. He is pointed to the Risen Star. Mesquite tightened from 95-1 to 75-1, and Pyromancer was cut in half from 200-1 to 100-1.
Six Speed, a Not This Time colt trained by Bhupat Seemar, wired the UAE 2000 Guineas (G3) on Friday at Meydan. The Kentucky-bred also won the UAE 2000 Guineas Trial on Jan. 2. He has not been listed in the Caesars futures.
Other newcomers to the board this week included Spartacus at 100-1, Fifty Four Yarder, Clocker Special, Khon Han and Ottinho at 125-1, Golden Tornado and Sockdolager at 150-1 and Waymark at 175-1.
Caesars Sportsbook Nevada listed 140 horses Monday morning in Kentucky Derby 2026 futures. The odds are available via Caesars and William Hill outlets and apps in Nevada and to out-of-state bettors who registered with licensed proxies.
